From the perspective of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), certain acupressure points on the body are believed to help enhance sexual sensation while also supporting general well-being. Learning where these points are located and how to massage them may add more vitality and intimacy to sexual activity.
Zhongfu (LU1) – A Key Point for Breast Care
Location: On the outer upper chest, level with the first intercostal space, approximately 6 cun lateral to the anterior midline.
Zhongfu is an important point on the Lung Meridian. In TCM, regular massage is believed to help promote the flow of Qi through the Lung Meridian. It is also traditionally associated with breast care, lymphatic circulation, and relief of chest tightness, shoulder discomfort, and upper-back tension.
Tianzhu (BL10) – Enhancing Sexual Arousal
Location: At the back of the neck, near the base of the skull, approximately 2 cm to either side of the midline at the posterior hairline.
Use the thumbs to massage the area gently. The back of the head and neck can be highly sensitive areas, and caressing or massaging this region may create a tingling or pleasurable sensation in some women, making it suitable as part of foreplay.
Geshu (BL17) – Awakening Sexual Sensation
Location: Between the shoulder blades and the spine, with one point on each side.
The area can be stimulated with gentle finger pressure to encourage circulation, or lightly stroked with the fingertips.
According to the original TCM description, stimulating this point may help women who are less responsive to sexual touch become more aware of pleasurable bodily sensations.
Mingmen (GV4) – Supporting Sexual Function
Location: In the center of the lower back, in the depression below the spinous process of the second lumbar vertebra, approximately level with the navel.
Press the point with the thumb until a mild aching or heavy sensation is felt, then massage the area several dozen times.
In TCM, Mingmen is traditionally associated with sexual vitality and is believed to help improve low sexual desire, support sexual function, and restore balance. It is also commonly used as a general wellness point related to healthy aging.
Chengfu (BL36) – Increasing Sexual Sensitivity
Location: In the center of the crease between the buttock and the upper thigh.
This area is considered relatively sensitive and may be massaged with slightly firmer finger pressure.
According to the original description, nerves associated with the reproductive organs pass through this region. Regular stimulation is traditionally believed to help strengthen vaginal contraction and increase sexual sensitivity.
Shenshu (BL23) – Strengthening Kidney Qi
Location: On the lower back, approximately 1.5 cun to either side of the lower border of the second lumbar vertebra.
In TCM, Shenshu is an important point associated with the Kidney system. Regular acupressure is traditionally believed to strengthen Kidney Qi and support Kidney function.
It is also commonly used in TCM for concerns such as menstrual irregularities and reduced sexual desire.
Shangyang (LI1) – Supporting Metabolism
Location: On the thumb side of the index finger, approximately 2 mm behind the corner of the fingernail.
Shangyang is located on the Large Intestine Meridian. Gently pinching or pressing this point is traditionally believed to stimulate the flow of Qi and blood along the meridian, support digestive function, promote metabolism, and contribute to general vitality.
Weizhong (BL40) – Enhancing Sexual Desire
Location: At the back of the knee, near the center of the knee crease.
According to the original TCM description, nerves associated with the reproductive system extend through this region.
Gently pressing or stroking the point is traditionally believed to increase sexual arousal in women. It may also help promote relaxation when sexual desire has been reduced by nervousness, emotional tension, or stress.
